Savoury Wheat Rava & Brown Rice Pancakes

Many of my followers and blogger friends would have already know that my recent favourite whole grain is Brown rice, it found out this whole grain accidently and i was quite skeptical to try out for the first time, but finally i went for some bakes using brown rice flour and i have completely got hooked to this fabulous whole grain, from that day onwards i added brown rice packets in my pantry and am trying out to replace the white rice by brown rice nowadays, while i was planning for making out some savoury pancakes for my own event, i wanted to make out truly something healthy and my choice went to broken wheat rava and brown rice..I soaked half a cup of brown rice for two hours and soaked later the wheat broken rava for half an hour and grounded along with grated coconut, dry red chillies and fennel seeds, yes this pancakes ressembles quite like our paruppu adai but i have completely skipped the dals and prepared simply with wheat rava and brown rice...We enjoyed this savoury pancakes with vendaikkai kuzhambu, healthy breakfast or dinner to enjoy without any guilt..These savoury pancakes goes to Pancakes and to Divya's Show Me Your WholeGrains..

2cups Wheat rava
1/2cup Brown rice
1/2tbsp Fennel seeds
1/4cup Grated coconut
3nos Dry red chillies
Salt
Oil of cooking

Soak the brown rice separately for two hours, before grinding soak the wheat rava for half an hour..grind both the wheat rava and brown rice along with dry red chillies, grated coconut and fennel seeds with enough salt..This batter doesnt need the fermentation and the batter is ready to make out pancakes..

Heat a tawa, pour a small ladle of batter spread the batter like a pancake, drizzle the oil and cook on both sides until they get well cooked..

Serve hot with any spicy gravies..
